Connect your knowledge to any AI assistant

Let ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI assistants securely query your Elium knowledge base through the Model Context Protocol.

Connecting Elium to AI assistants through MCP

Elium now speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that lets AI models securely access real-time, contextual data from the systems they connect to.

With MCP, assistants like ChatGPT and Claude can query your Elium knowledge base to answer questions, summarise documents, and provide context-aware support, without exporting or copy-pasting a thing.

What you can do

  • Let AI assistants search and read your Elium content straight from their conversations
  • Ground every answer in your team's trusted knowledge instead of generic web data
  • Connect Claude, ChatGPT (custom connectors are in beta), or your own MCP-compatible system

Secure by design

Access runs over OAuth 2.0, so an assistant only ever reaches content the signed-in user is allowed to see. Every Elium permission is respected, and nothing leaves your platform unless it's explicitly requested.

Each platform exposes its own MCP endpoint at https://your-platform-name.elium.com/services/mcp.

Getting started

Administrators connect an assistant in two steps: create a connected OAuth app in the Elium admin panel, then add Elium as a custom connector in ChatGPT or Claude. Two authentication options are available:

  • Manual OAuth client (recommended): full control over credentials and redirect URLs
  • Dynamic Client Registration: external systems register themselves automatically, available on request

See the full setup guide for step-by-step instructions.
