Markdown
Import Markdown files into Elium: headings, lists, links and code blocks preserved.
About this integration
Elium reads and writes content as Markdown, so you can bring content in by pasting, importing in bulk, or generating it with an AI model. It accepts standard Markdown plus a few extensions for callouts, collapsible sections, and embeds. Elium tidies imported Markdown into one clean, consistent form.
What you get
Standard format
Content from many tools maps cleanly through standard Markdown.
Rich blocks
Callouts, collapsibles, embeds, and tables all carry across.
Bulk and AI import
Generate content programmatically or with AI and import it at scale.
Common questions
Can we bring an existing library in as Markdown?
Yes. Elium reads and writes CommonMark plus a small set of common extensions, so you can paste from another tool, migrate in bulk, or generate content programmatically.
Will our Markdown come back exactly as we wrote it?
No. Elium stores a single canonical form and re-emits that, so your formatting choices are normalised even though the content itself is preserved.
How do we write Elium blocks such as callouts?
Plain Markdown covers the basics. Elium adds directives for richer blocks such as callouts and collapsible sections, and a canonical HTML form for files, galleries and embeds.
Can we test an import before committing to it?
Yes. A validation playground takes your Markdown and reports what would happen, including blocks dropped, values defaulted and content normalised.
